General Information

Working together for our common future

The Parliamentary Conference on Interfaith Dialogue will be held at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech (Morocco),
from June 13 to 15, 2023.

Registration and Assembly badges

The on-line registration system set up by the IPU Secretariat can be accessed via the Parliamentary Conference webpage by simply clicking on the registration button. It will be open from April 3 to June 5, 2023.

The on-site registration service will be open :

  • Tuesday, June 13, from 12 pm to 7 pm, andkeyboard_arrow_right
  • Wednesday, June 14, and Thursday, June 15, from 8 am to 6:30 pmkeyboard_arrow_right

Press and media accreditation

Only confirmed members of the press and media will receive accreditation. To do this, a letter from your media outlet and a copy of your press card should be submitted to press@ipu.org in addition to your online registration.

A media center will be operational from Tuesday, June 13, to Thursday, June 15, 2023. For any inquiries, please contact the Communications team at press@ipu.org.

In order to ensure all bookings, participants are requested to make their reservation through the platform: www.ipu.ma.

As the city of Marrakech is a tourist destination and the period chosen for the conference coincides with the peak tourist season, the deadline for reservations is April 30, 2023, covering the period from June 12 to 16, 2023. Beyond this deadline, the host parliament will not be able to ensure a reservation.

To facilitate the process of identifying the place of reservations, please send the confirmation of the composition of your delegation, as well as the arrival dates and the name of the hotel of your choice,by 30 April 2023, by email to the Secretariat of the Moroccan Parliament at ipu.info@parlement.ma and m.benjnane@parlement.ma.

Visa formalities

The Moroccan authorities will facilitate the granting of entry visas to the Kingdom of Morocco to members of delegations through Moroccan consulates, embassies and diplomatic missions accredited in the countries concerned.

As the visa application process may take some time, all delegates are advised to submit their visa application as soon as possible.

For some countries where Morocco does not have a diplomatic or consular post, the visa will be issued on arrival. In this case, delegates are kindly invited to send by e-mail to the Moroccan Section Secretariat (ipu.info@parlement.ma) a photocopy of their passport, as well as the name of the airline company, the date and time of arrival in Morocco.

Below is the updated list of countries whose nationals are required to have a visa formality for entry to Morocco, as well as the status of the countries to which Moroccan nationals can access without a visa.

Security

The host Parliament will take the necessary measures to ensure the security of all participants and their property during the Conference. In this regard, delegates should PERMANENTLY wear the Conference badge on interfaith dialog, whether at the venue of the conference or at any official event to which they are invited.

As part of security measures, all persons and their personal belongings (bags/luggage) will be screened at the entrance to the conference venue.

The identification badges will be color coded to assist security personnel. Lost badges must be reported immediately at the registration and information desk. Delegates are asked to present their badges during security checks at the entrance of Palais des Congrès

Transportation

In order to ensure the reception and transport of all delegations, they are requested to send the Secretariat of the Moroccan Parliament “the form of arrival and departure” at ipu.info@parlement.ma and m.benjnane@parlement.ma.

A reception desk will be available to all participants at the Marrakech-Ménara International Airport. The host Parliament will be responsible for the transport of all delegates from their arrival to their hotel, as well as for their departure.

Shuttle services will be available between accredited conference hotels and the Convention Center, as well as for all official events during the Conference. Schedules will be provided at each hotel’s information desk.

Insurance

All participants are advised to subscribe to an insurance policy. All delegates must also have international health insurance to travel to Morocco.

Bilateral meetings

A limited number of rooms will be set aside for bilateral/in camera meetings. Bilateral meeting rooms will be available from June 13 to 15, 2023 and can be reserved for 30-minute slots, subject to availability and on a first-come, first-served basis. Room reservations for bilateral meetings will be possible from 10 April 2023 by sending them to the IPU Conference Service at conf-services@ipu.org, with the subject line “Marrakesh bilateral meeting request”.
